First I have to thank all the contributors on this forum. I have read so much on here that has helped me in my rebuild! I've gone from Mid 500's to +/- 700 on most of my reports in the last 90 days. I really needed to add another postive tradeline to my report and after a lot of research I thought Barclay's would be the way to go. TU is my highest score and shows no derogs and they usually pull just TU. The card I really wanted was the Arrival Plus because of the Travel Rewards and 5% redemption bonus. I applied online this morning, Easter Sunday, and received the 7-10 day message. Checked the application status and said declined. I called the recon number I found on myFico and spoke to a nice rep who offered to look over the report. He verified some basic info (income etc) and asked me about the high utilization on a credit card with my local credit union. I explained that the account was opened specifically to pay for funeral services for my father and that it's fixed at 4.9% for the life of the card. He said based on my file and the perfect payment history he could go ahead and push it through for $5000! Scores in my signature are current as of the application!
