Finally......Amex opened up their wallet for me

After months of trying and denied numerous times (4 to be exact, but whose counting? 😊), Amex finally opened their door and wallet, and welcomed me with open arms. I had applied exactly 30 days ago, and was denied the BCE Amex. Then, when everyone said it was easier to get a charge card, I apped 2 days later, but was auto-declined for the Amex gold, because of the denial of the first. They only did the one hardpull for the first, which was good.

Since my scores have gone up from 653 to 678 this month, I was counting down the 30 day time period in which you can apply again. Today was the day.

I tried for the Amex green charge card first. After submission, it gave me a message that their system was unavailable. I could call to do the app or try again online later. I started to do it again, then decided to just click on the link that said status, just in case it did process. I'm glad I did, because it showed it was pending, along with my other 2 declines.

So I thought, if they are going to use 1 hardpull, I mine as well try for the other easier card, Amex Delta Gold. I wanted to wait until after 3am, just in case it wasn't the 30 day time frame I thought it was. So I submitted it, and got that same message. I checked the status and....voila, I was approved, but it did not give me a limit. So I called CS, and the rep started by welcoming me to the Amex family. She saw that I was just approved for my first card with them. Then, she told me my limit was $2000. I'm cool with that. Just happy to finally have something to show for my hard work of rebuilding after a year and a half. Thank you all for your wonderful advice and stories. It has helped me a lot.

On my way, to the 700 club, after being stuck in the 500s and low 600s for so long.
