Just got approved for AmEx Everyday Cash after being rejected initially. This is my second recon approval from American Express.
So basically the Costco True Earnings card will be going out of order in June. I use that card a lot for my business. And that card too was approved using recon. It took me 2 weeks to get approved for that card, and the only way I got approved for it was by calling their executive office.
So I called American Express and told them what options do I have since Costco won't be accepting American Express anymore. They told me I'm pre approved for the AmEx Everyday Cash. I do the app over the phone and I'm denied... So for me personally, that sucked. I do over 10k+ a month worth of purchases on their Gold Charge card and 5k+ on the True Earnings Card. Never missed a payment, nor was I ever late. Losing the True Earnings Card would've negated all the progress I've made in regards to the relationship I'm trying to make with American Express tfor a revolving credit card.
Anyway, I call the reconsideration line and told them to reconsider it. The rep told me they'll likely reject me again because my Fico's don't meet the requirement for this card. Told him to just go ahead and do it anyway. Woke up today and checked online and I was approved! I was expecting to have to go through a long spat with their executive office once again.

I love succesful recons stories, and I'm happy to be able to share one again. The industry can be cruel sometimes because everything is determined by a number.. But I accept it and I'm happy these credit card companies are willing to reconsider.
