Penfed approval :(

So I applied yesterday for membership with Penfed and I was approved. Then I decided to app for the platinum visa signature card. I was approved for 9K. I did not have any real reason to app for penfed. I need to stay away from the approvals section. I froze my reports and I am done with apping. I do plan on getting a new car next year and a new house in about 3 years. So I guess it's not so bad, but completely unnecessary at the moment. My app for PLOC with penfed is pending. I am beating myself up about apping. 4 new accounts this year, it will be 5 if the PLOC is approved.
