First up is Bloomingdales, I called up Macy's INC corp office and explained that I wanted to be told why I was given the store card, the lady transferred me and the other lady who picked up reviewed the application said that for some reason I didn't qualify for the Amex so it gave me the store card, she made the comment of saying on their scoring model I have a 754 out of 900, and I have great credit and to apply for the Amex in a few months once I establish some history with this card. She also made the comment saying it could also be your exposure with Citibank, appearently she can see the Macy's accounts, Home depot and Best Buy accounts I have, I plan to chop the Macy's store card in a few months so that should fix that. I asked if she could at least reconsider the credit line (the day I was approved I requested a CLI and it was denied) I asked for 8k and she came back with approved. Once we ended that call I called back and asked for more (made up some bs about buying some furniture) I asked for 16k and the lady came back with "In order to approve this request, go into the store and attempt to buy the items you need and they will call us", ill call back tomorrow and see if they will bump it to 12k, but if not 8k is fine.
Next was BofA, their CSRs are so clueless I almost closed the account. I had a $500 cash rewards card with bofa, when I originally applied for it back in Nov, I was told I didn't qualify for the version I applied for but I qualified for an unsecured version with a $39 AF and no bonus, I accepted and it was handled by their secured department, so I called in today to see if anything can be done. The lady told me since its unsecured it can't be converted to a different product, and it would always be handled by the secured department and the AF can't be removed. After that call ended I almost called them up again and closed the account but I decided to take another shot. I called back in and asked again appearently this rep knew what she was doing took my information, pulled TU and came back saying its now un-secured and won't be handled by the secured dept now and she said the CLI request was denied. I asked for a manual review by a credit analyst, I was transferred. Well the department she transferred me to couldn't see that I was approved for a graduation, so that person transferred me again, and now comes to where this story winds down, the lady I spoke with said the request was not denied, but it was actually waiting review by a senior analyst. I asked if I could have a decision today, she put me on a long hold (20+ mins) came back with saying I was approved for a 1k increase, to bring me to 1.5k. Said she put in a request to remove the AF. and when my account reaches 6 months next month I can call in for a APR reduction. At least I got it out of that secured department and its a more usuable CL now. I plan to request another CLI in december, thats how it works for BofA right? 6 months between requests?
Lastly, I have been planning this for a while, I put in apps for AARP and Hyatt with chase last week, Hyatt was approved after verification and AARP needed to be reviewed by lending, and it got approved for $500 a few days ago. I called into Chase's Ritz EO number, and asked to consolidate everything, the rep I spoke with was very agressive with me, and its not the first time ive experianced such attitude by their reps. I moved everything but $500 (CL was $7k) from Marriott, and moved $14k from Ritz, was told after the pending transactions clear on the Ritz I can move the rest, and leaving $500 (the CL was $15k, and once its $500 the AF should get refunded) and moved 9k from Hyatt (CL was 10.5k, want to leave some breathing room to meet bonus), making the AARP card $30k, once the pending transactions on the ritz clear tonight I plan to move what they will let me to Hyatt, then once the spending bonus is met on Hyatt, shoving the rest into AARP and closing Hyatt - Ritz - and Marriott, leaving my AARP, once i'm done with a $31.5k CL.
