Got a mailer from Chase saying I was "pre-approved" for Freedom last week....tore me up as I was done with new cards for the next two years, already have a CSP with them, but went ahead and applied, got 7-10 day msg about a week ago, got a letter in the mail yesterday that my CRs were frozen and they could not access (forgot to lift them) and they said they needed access to EQ to complete....debated then lifted the freeze, called in and went through the process and verifired and was told approved and I would get info in the mail.
Logged on about an hour later to chase.com and saw the limit. $8500.00 little dissappointed since I have the CSP at $12K, but I know Chase is not known for high limits, so I guess it is a decent limit, but not sure if anyone else out there has higher limits on Freedom, really want only $10K+ card going forward.
My Stats: (scores and limits in my sig are current as of this week). They pulled EQ solely, I live outside DC in Northern Virginia. No baddies ever, my utilization is around 7% ($350K+ total credit lines) right now, oldest account is Amex, 25years and average age in around 8yrs. two auto loans (1.99%&2.35%-chase auto loan), 30 yr mortgage @ 3.25% (28.5 yrs left) $650K loan and already paid down 30%. 23 INQs in last 2 years.
(side note, have a PhD, not a MD and never ever call myself doctor, but since I have had Chase for over a decade, when I opened my 1st account with them, was friends with the girl who opened the account and she put in Dr...grrr)
