So, hi everyone, I have been trolling for a while but I had to share my results from everything I learned from many of you here! Hoping it helps someone in return. Alright, my credit is in the 590's across the board basically. I cleaned up some of the errors, where the CRA would allow it anyway, but I still have 7 CA's active, 5-7 Inquiries (that count), my DTC ratio is in the tank, like 90+% use because until 2 months ago, the only CC reporting is a defunct First Premiere CC with over 100% utilization. However, I finally managed a Fingerhut Fresh Start 8 months ago (yep just paid the last pymnt to move up to a real acct but it hasnt been reviewed yet) and after that managed a tiny credit account with Montgomery Wards, paid it off and hit the proverbial jackpot lol, because MW has a group of catalog stores with buy now pay later thing going on, including Swiss Colony, anyway, so I have $400 credit lines at Wards, 2 of their partners plus $150 at Swiss Colony.
I don't know but shortly after I was approved at the partner sites (I paid a small down payment, like 10-30% per order, but the orders were $400 almost so it's all good) I got approved for $700 from iCuracao! Now I read a few folks on here and other forums with scores over 700 that got denied an account with iCuracao, so no clue but I am thankful and paying on all of these early even.
So, after reading through the info on the shopping cart thing early yesterday morning, I now have $250 each at Woman Within (they have 7 sister sites the card works at) and VS, but none of the others I tried worked. Until.....JCPenney, no, not for their card, but apparently, PayPal Credit is through Comenity Bank and so when I went to checkout, not only did I have the option to choose credit card payment methods or PP, I had a new 3rd option for PPcredit, no hard pull, just a little box asking for DOB and last 4, then a confirmation box from Comenity/PayPal asking me to confirm that I knew I was asking for a credit line that would charge me interest, like DUH..so thank you thank you thank you to all of you that posted legit info.
oh also, I received an email from Cap1, saying I was pre-approved to apply for that new hush hush product Credit Builder, yeah sucky $100 credit line, but compared to $0 now, I need to add a real CC to what I have, however, after submitting the app, I got not the typical 7-10 day message my message said they needed additional information and would contact me via email with the final decision, so far I have not heard back. I graduate with my AAS in July, I would love to have a big boy (well girl in my case) card as my graduation present! Thanks again!
