I got my first Voice credit card (3% Cash back Rewards) from an instant preapproval on Valentine's Day 2014 @ $3,000 after opening a combo checking/savings and earning a nice Bonus that comes with it. After some 18 months with the 3% CashBack Rewards card i've since picked up my 2nd Voice Card @ $11,000 in Sept. 2015 and it was the Low APR version of 14.99%!
In April i opted to close one of those (2) HNB Voice cards, the 3% Rewards Card with the $3K limit and reapply again later this year. Several days had passed after closing it when i got a letter in the mail confirming the request and it also stated "we're sorry that our product didn't satisfy your needs at this time". My jaw about dropped to the floor. Talk about a bank and lender who actually takes the time to express some concern in a letter (which didn't appear to be a usual canned response) like that was just totally awesome. Both they're services and products have been a most satisfying experience to date and not always found in some regional banks that's for sure.
Since i was already planning this one anyway and been gardening from December, my Equifax score has been steadily improving as well as Utility @8%. Plus i know that Huntington pulls EQ and mine had a total of only 6 FICO countable INQ's.
So this past Memorial Day Weekend i made up my mind to finally go for it and submitted the new Huntington application that evening. It went through the usual 4 stages process and then within about 5 seconds after it popped up and said Congratulations!, Your Voice Credit Card application has been approved, credit limit is $10,000! with a 16.24% APR!!
Another very welcome outcome from this bank and well timed out by design.
