I have been re-building my credit for the last 3 years after royally messing up my credit back in 2009. I usually pop into myFICO a couple times a year, and when I first started coming to this community, I found everyone to be very helpful.
Anyway, all of my baddies fell off in December and last month. My credit score is 685 and I currently have AMEX, DISCOVER, and Barclays NFL card. I thought I would try Citi seeing how its been a year since I have applied for any cards. I figured they would decline me, I assumed I would be blacklisted because I had a C/O with them for like a grand. However, to my surprise they approved me for a $5,400.00 So I am glad that I tried.
I am 31 now and even though I messed up terribly in my early 20's, I am glad that I have learned from my mistakes and have more respect for credit. I also know that I am lucky that I am still young enough where I was able to come back from all of this.
In the future I may try CHASE (I had a c/o with them too) but thankfully its not as though I am in need of it.
