After my recent success with PENFED,(21k signature Visa, and a 10k personal loan for my honeymoon ) I decided to give USAA a shot. My dad is marine vet, so I opened an account for him, and then joined myself. Mostly I heard they have great insurance rates. Getting married in July, so I figured we would combine then. I did not open a checking account, cause I have 2 already. App'd for the Preferred Signature Visa, instant approval, 7k! Decided to go for the cash back rewards plus AMEX, again...7k! Beyond stoked... My scores are going to take a big hit from all these new accounts...but I haven't had anything reporting in years. So I'm gonna let all these age, PIF, keep my utilization down, and then apply for my mortgage midle of next year. Either through USAA, or PENFED. Anyone have luck doing recon on the SL? Thought I could ask them to at least match PENFED. How would one go about that?
