I followed the NFCU thread and had mixed feelings after following the thread with the hard time palmdale (think that was the user) was having with them so I've kinda steered clear. But then I started to think that you never know how long I'd be able to get in through the Navy League...so if nothing else I decided to just join and establish accounts. Opened with no problems - all online nevertheless!
I'm taking advantage of some 0% offers so utilization has gone up and my score dropped a bit (654 EQ)...so the plan was to wait until it went up to waste another HP to get any products from NFCU. But with all the HPs I've had recently (Penfed-who pulled twice by the way within 2 days for 2 separate products!, Citi, NFCU, refinanced my car loan recently, 2 store accounts) I decided I just want to get everything I want and let them age together.
So pulled the trigger today for the Go Rewards card and was instantly approved for $4,300! Not my highest limit, but given where my credit profile stands to date I'll take it knowing that the card will grow if I treat it right.
I chose to do a balance transfer to decrease the utilization on one of my cards/take advantage of the 0% for 6 months deal - does anyone know if balance transfers count towards the spend $3k in 90 days to get the 20,000 bonus points?
