Back in November I told myself it was time to garden. Opened a total of 6 cards in 1 year adding to the 1 existing card I've had for 7 years. However, after hearing the rumor that Chase was going to add their 5/24 rule soon to co-branded cards, I applied today for both the Chase Hyatt and Ritz-Carlton Cards. I was hoping to apply for these cards in a few more months, which would let my score recover a bit more.
While the approval amounts weren't the largest, both applications were instantly approved for what I'm assuming is the minimum ($5,000).
However, the free nights that these cards provide will be put to good use on my trip to Japan that I'm planning later in the year. (2 nights in the Kyoto, Japan Ritz, and 2 nights at the Park Hyatt in Tokyo)
WIth these approvals, I now have pretty much every Chase card that I had my eyes on. Now it's time to head back to the garden for real (and hopefully stay there until August or so at the earliest! Hopefully this won't impact my credit score too heavily!
