My wife has been trying to get approved for the Chase Sapphire Reserve (CSR) for a while now. She applied on 22 Aug and was auto declined due to too many new accounts. She's opened 4 accounts in the past 24 months, but has been added as an Authorzied User on three on my accounts w/i the past 24 months. After 3 calls to recon and secure message Chase refused to budge on not counting the AUs. The recon dept told her to get herself removed from the accounts as an AU and have the issuers remvoe the accounts from her credit report and reapply.
So we have spent the past two weeks getting these accounts off of her credit report. It finally happened over the weekend. Checked all three reports. All three reports put her at 4/24. Applied online again and yeat again recevied the pending message. Called recon again and Chase insists that she is still on the accounts. I swear they must be using the same report from 22 Aug (she asked and they said it was a fresh report - bs). ANyway, after a long call going through every account the rep recommended her for approval subject to a seconrday review which will take 24-48 hours.
Her credit score is 800+, less than 1% card utilization, about a 10 year credit history (w/ good mix), no baddies, 100K+ income, and 4 new accounts within 24 months. Only 1 inquiry in the past 12 months (it was chase for the csr app).
This whole process has been a complete nightmare!! Looking forward to her getting the 100k points and closing the CSP.
My question is for a duplicate application does Chase usually pull another bureau? It seems silly to me given that we fixed the wrong info on the report - a new report would have most likely granted instant approval.
