How to Make Great Approvals Posts!

The CC Approval Board is a great place to share and learn about successful CLIs and approvals of new cards.   We encourage members to share (and respond to) all success stories! We also enjoy when members include relevant information about their own credit profile, their APRs and CLs, and reports that are pulled (or not pulled) in the process.

So how can we make this Board valuable for all members?  What makes a great approval post?

1.  Individual accomplishments deserve individual responses.   Bearing this in mind, we encourage not only unique stories, but also unique responses.  For example, in a thread titled "AMEX BCE Approved", a response of "congrats on AMEX" is more specific than "congrats" while being nearly as concise.  Should you have specific questions about the product, the CCC, or the OP's relevant information, we definitely encourage you to ask.  If you have similar experiences, share and discuss.

2.  Be supportive.   Include encouraging responses, and remember that there are no small victories here.  A $250 store card approval to a rebuilder is every bit as valuable as the $25K approval for those with excellent credit (I know--I've experienced both!).

3.  Be specific, when possible.   Any information shared could help those with similar profiles or considering the products.   Consider these ideas:   What product did you get?   What CRs were pulled?   What is your FICO score (if known)?   Are you willing to share any other info about your credit profile (UTIL, income, "baddies", etc).   What made you consider this product?   For CLIs, when was your last one?  Was your CLI an HP or SP?  Did you have a prior product/relationship with the lender?   If the product isn't well-known, could you tell us more about it?

If you are responding, you may also want to ask about these topics if you don't see an answer already given; OPs may provide more information at their discretion.

Hopefully, these suggestions help you have a better experience in the Approvals Board!  Thank you for helping make the myFICO Forums a great community!

(As a side note, an earlier sticky thread addressed a very specific concern regarding mass posts; dozens of one-word responses would be posted over numerous threads in a short period of time solely as a means to boost post count.   Mass responses that interfere with the function of the board may, at moderator discretion, be considered "thread-bombing" and in violation of the Forum TOS.  As always, we encourage specific responses over generic ones.)
