Hello Forumites! I have been in the garden since July 2015, and was trying to get something on Amazon this past weekend. There was an offer for the Amazon card which I took and subsequently got approved for 3K. Next day, I was traveling on United for business, which I have been doing for the past 2 months, saw the offer for the 30K sky miles and I immediately applied for it since it is being offered by chase. I got the "30 day" notice and left it alone. When I got to my hotel, I wanted to see if I could increase the limit on my Amazon card and when the rep picked up the call, he said "are you calling about the United card?", and I said no, I was calling to increase the Amazon but we can definitely address the United app. He said he couldn't increase the CL but as for the United app, he said "they are leaning towards approval and I can transfer you to the verification department". Lo and behold, I was transferred, was asked if I was the one doing the application, sent a code to my phone and bam! Approved for 16k.
Moral of the story is that, some times, things just work in your favor without you actually trying. Don't give up friends, take the chance and watch things happens for you.
