I've been thinking about apping the BofA Alaska Airlines card for a while, though I knew I'd wait to apply to keep my chances high for the Visa Sig credit limit and not have to overspend to meet the bonus while working on other bonuses. But I realized that boxing myself into one airline, even if it has many partners, is not for me... and I have a hard time swallowing annual fees at my income/spend level. So BofA Travel Rewards is good enough for me.
But with the itch to apply still there, I moved to other cards I'd been considering: Barclay Ring and BofA Better Balance Rewards. I love the concept of the Ring, and it's nice to have a lower APR card if I run into trouble, exhaust my emergency fund and need to carry a balance at some point. And Better Balance Rewards... can't argue with the money from that.
Was worried about the Ring since I've heard Barclay is sensitive to new accounts, but I pulled the trigger anyway... instantly approved for $4,000!
Applied for BofA Better Balance Rewards immediately after... approved for $6,500!
Then, while I was at it, I hit the CLI button on my BofA Cash Rewards... asked for $10k, but they came back at $4,800. Didn't expect the full $10k and still pretty happy with the $4,800.
Now, time to garden for a long, long time.
