I got my holy grail....Amex.

I said I was done.  But I had quite a bit of success through the week.  My scores are higher than they've ever been (at least since I've been monitoring them.)  I have removed all negatives except for one and it seemed like creditors were taking notice and rewarded me with lots of success this week.

I told my wife this morning after another bump on Experian "you know this makes me want to apply for Amex again, but I'm not going to."

Amex for me has always been the holy grail.  The card that seemed unreachable.  In my case, I prefer the Delta card due to traveling I do and would like to do, so that was what I had my eyes on. I applied twice in the last few months, only to be shot down.  Today, I was on a conference call to nowhere and decided just to look, just to see if anything had changed with the bonus, etc.

Then, I decided just to hit the apply button.....then I decided to fill out my info....then I decided to hit submit.

The wheel spun for about 45 seconds and then gave me the message that there was an issue with their system and they'd send me a letter within 14 days.

"Wait...that didn't say 7-10 days....I've never seen that before."

So I went to the app status page and there it was.

The most beautiful words I've ever seen.

Approved.

I needed to call in so he could tell me all about my 1000 limit.  So I called and I waited, and I waited and I waited.

"Congratulations sir, you have been approved and your card should be to you by March 5th."

But what's my limit?

"What kind of limit were you hoping for, sir?"

Honestly, I don't know, just curious.

"Well sir, your limit is three thousand five hundred dollars, is that ok?"

Yes, yes it is.

This card probably isn't a big deal to most.

The limit is far from my best.

But it is something that I've never had before and there was a time I thought I'd never have.  It is a centurion bank American Express card.  And that, to me, is a great, great thing.
