Applied for the Macy's Amex first and got an instant approval for 6K, then a few hours later was shopping in Best Buy and well they offered the option to apply and figued what the heck since I did not have any Citi cards. Much to my surprise was instantly approved for 5k for the Visa version.

Macy's pulled Equifax which was a 794 at the time of application and I only had 1 inquiry that was more than a year old.
Best Buy Visa pulled Experian which was a 794 at the time of application and I had 2 inquiries more than a year old
For New accounts at the time of application I was 3/6 and 6/12
No Derogs or Late payments/ 100% ontime payment
