I opened an account with PenFed a few months ago & transferred almost all of my banking there in hopes of building a good relationship with them. After 3 months, I finally got an approved for a Promise Card. I used it a few times, paid it off & then transferred a balance to it. I've been making regular payments as soon as the statement drops. My last credit pull in December had a low score of 639 so I didn't get approved for my PLOC goal.
It was finally time for a re-pull so I pulled the trigger the other night and it went to pending with a loan officer instead of the instant decline - I was so excited. But, then I got the turn down message yesterday 
Reasons were BK, Inquiries, and past delinquent account (part of BK). So I wrote a long, detailed response to PenFed outling all of these reasons and all I've done to build my relationship with them. My BK was in 2012 & I've been perfect since.
I logged into my account yesterday and the turn down message all the sudden turned to "Preparing to Disburse." What?! I never received a call or email so I thought it had to be a mistake. I've been obsessively checking my account since last night....I just checked again and a new loan showed up - $20,000 Bill Consolidation Loan!!!! 
I'm so happy Thanks to this board- I would've never known about PenFed!
