Just called the backdoor number to look for an APR reduction on my Barclays NFL Extra Points card. Have had it for 9 or 10 billing cycles now, somewhere around there. Spoke to the first level CSR, very nice; asked for APR reduction and she transferred me to someone else who verified my identity and said it looked like I did have an offer on my account but would need to speak to another person. Third person said I did have an APR reduction offer (1 point from 20.24 to 19.24 ... but every one counts!). Took that. Asked if they could do anything else and I asked if I had any other offers available on my account.
Told me I could take an extra point for every dollar spent in gas/utilities/groceries over the next 90 days or spend $1000/90 days and get 5000 points. Said I was interested in the gas/uti/groceries but the $1000 offer sounded better -- and that's when they broke out the "well let's PC your card to the Rewards card" and gave me a stacked bonus of another $1000 spend over the next 90 days for 10000 points - so spend $2000 over next 90 days and get a bonus of 15k points on top of points earned regularly.
Pretty stoked over it all, especially because playing dumb sometimes works out really well: the final CSR indicated that if I ever wanted to look at other products, to just call in. Referenced the Arrival explicitly if I wanted travel rewards. Also said to call in 2-3 times a year to maximize the likelihood of hitting offers.
