APPROVED Finally! Alaska Air VISA & BofA Cash Rewards

BofA hasn't like my BK7 discharged in Jan 2014. They've denied me 3 times in the past year. After the last one, they mailed me the secured card offer. I tossed it.

But with my FICO's now in the 700-720 range across the board, UT at 4%, I decided to try again. First, I went for Alaska. I've never flown them, but like the companion ticket and their miles transfer to American Air, which I mostly travel. Instant Approval for $1,000.

Next, I was brave and tried Cash Rewards. Again, Instant Approval for $1,000. The low limit means it's not a Signature VISA.

I'm a bit disappointed in the limits, already having Discover at $18k, and 2 CapOnes at $6k each. Even the Cabela's is $3k. So I called the credit analyst this morning. She was quite pleasant (I've heard stories of BofA's rudeness, and went in killing her with kindness.) She tried both, but came back saying the requirements are that I have each card for 3 months before I can be considered for CLI.

So no joy on increasing SL on either. This makes them my lowest limit, other than Wells Fargo's stingy $900, (sock drawered, except for a stick of gum twice a year).

I'm happy to finally get BofA, though. I've never had them, so didn't burn them in BK. And I suppose when you think of how conservative BofA can be, I just got my foot in a pretty difficult door. So, Amen.
