Just got a $5k auto CLI from Discover!

Wow, I'm completely shocked. I was just sitting here minding my own business when a notification popped up on my phone from Discover. It said, " Thanks for your loyalty. We've increased your credit line."  I've had my Discover for 13 months now, and I've asked for a Cli twice I believe. They always offered $200, which I always rejected. That being said, I wasn't expecting much when I logged in to check how much they gave me.

When I applied for my Discover in July 2019, I was carrying a BT, but I thought high household income and fico score(about 780) may persuade them to start me higher. It didn't lol. They gave me $5100, which sucked, but I made the best of it to maximize  my cash back match the first year.  My statement balance for the entire year has hovered around $3500 each month as I've taken advantage of the 0% offer. I can't believe I've carried about 79% of my credit limit for the last year, and then they turn around and give me a $5k cli during this time of financial uncertainty. No complaints from me though!

BofA Card - Got Approved, Worried about more approvals?

$

Okay, I have been seeing terrrrrbul things lately. CLD's from every and any lender, companies like Synchrony shutting down ALL cards at once, limit chasing, etc.

So, I need opinions.

I know my Wayfair is supposed to shut down by Commenity on Sept. 11th, correct? Already, that scares me.

So, I decided to try to diversify today.

Although I'm about 2/5 (last card was my Amex BCE in Oct. 2019), I just didn't want to chance Chase right away, so I checked the prequals on the BofA site and was offered any choice of their cards.

Without ANY relationship with BofA, I was approved for the Cash Rewards, but with a low SL of $3500. Still, I can grow it, right?

And most of all, DIVERSIFY.

So, I got my last CLI auto in May or June from Discover ($15,700 to $17,500), and my 2 Citi cards seem okay (just re-verified my income today because they asked me to update my info in case of an auto CLI... 😬!!!), and my Amex I've kept without asking for a CLI, just in case.

So far, so good. But losing Wayfair sucks.

And what if Synchrony flips out and dusts my cards?

So, ...

I know apping for the BofA card could be seen as 'credit seeking' (even if I haven't had a new card since last year), but I have a pretty damned good file and very good scores. I should be okay, right?

Also, I got a nice offer in the mail yesterday for the Hilton Honors card (7x Hilton purchases, 5x at restaurants, supermarkets and gas stations, 3x on every other purchase) with a 100k point SUB for $1000 spend within 3 months. Got till Sept. 30th to respond.

I'm good with my Amex BCE I have now, ...

Would apping for the HH be seen as a bad thing??

Even if I wait till the end of September?

I want to travel again ASAP, and the points for groceries and restaurants is nice! And It amps points if eating at a Hilton (7x plus 5x)!

Dunno. I'm scared. And hungry.

Scrungry.

What should I do? 🥺😭🤷‍♀️

Cap1 weak CLI, Amex DENIED cli

So here we go... time for CLI attempts again.

Req'd CLI from CAP1 - asked for a lot on a $2,701 card (originally secured) - got $300.  Woo.  Whatever, it is probably bucketed.  I'll take what I can get.

Req'd a CLI from Amex on my Marriott Bonvoy Billiant card - NOTHING.  7-10 day message.  Funny thing is I still haven't gotten the letter from them, but in SPITE of my 798 credit score, pristine credit, etc, nothing from them.  Only have $3100 limit on the card.  Had the card a year, no luv from them. Eh well.  Four days later, they approved me for a Gold card for a new business entity with not even a blink - first instant approval I've **EVER** gotten.

I have 6 HPs, but today's email from Apple is soooo tempting.  I know others were approved applying through the app on the iPhone, but I'm weary of getting another HP with yet another denial (BofA, Chase).  Any recent advice based on outcomes from apping the Apple card from either the email or using the iPhone app to apply?  I realise that I'll likely get a HP on TU if I do apply.

Hilton Honors Amex approved

I logged into my Amex account to make a payment for my Green card. I saw I had a pre approval for the Hilton Honors. I probably should've waited to apply because my utilization is higher now. I was approved but only for $1000 SL. Happy for the approval but really not happy with that credit limit. Hopefully, I can get a 3x CLI in a few months. Card will arrive in 3-5 days.

I recently moved to Florida in the past month and my moving expenses were through the roof. Temporary situation, of course, but frustrating as I'm not liking all this debt.

All cards with their limits in signature are currently updated.

BB&T Bright Card; SP; APPROVED!!

I read on here that if you opened a checking and savings account with BB&T and deposited around $1k it would up your chances of being approved. I had the extra grand laying around, so why not I thought? I've had my Checking and Money Market Savings account for maybe two weeks now, and I went to check the preapprovals this evening Smiley Happy

Listed all three, the bright card's 0% intro APR and then really low APR after the intro period, had me hooked. I don't really have a no frills card, so this would be nice to have on hand for emergencies.

NFCU Platinum!!!

Ok guys, I was prepping my credit for a mortgage (pushing hard for 740). Got pre-approved by a local financer and WF but there are NO homes on the freaking market and my lease isn't up until Sept 2021. I figured the only way to get my scores up was to improve my UTIL by getting some padding.

NOTE: I have two paid collections (NCA refuses to delete EVER) from 2018 and a 30 day late from 2018 (NFCU CashRewards Visa - closed by credit grantor).

AAOA - 8.5 years (Amex backdated to 1994)
UTIL - 49%
Navcheck -13/15k

PSECU - 13/15k

Pepco Visa - 6/9.5k

Cap1 QS, Amex Blue, Chase Freedom, Macy's, Amazon, Target all zero

Non-Mort Inq - EQ 2, TU 0, EX 2

Thanks to you all, I found out that NFCU pulls TU9 for cc. I still don't know what my TU 9 is. When I find out I will update this post.

I applied yesterday around 4pm and received the dreaded Under Review 24-48 hour message. This morning I woke up to a Congratulations e-mail: 20k SL 12.99% APR. I think I will transfer my PSECU balance over for the 0%.

FYI- the cash rewards they closed had a 20k limit and 17.65% APR.

I am thinking about one more before I head to the garden for at least 6 months....ask for CLI on PSECU VISA, Upgrade Amex Blue to BCP, add another Chase product, join PenFed, or try for Citi??

U.S. Bank Radisson Rewards Premier Visa Signature; Successful Recon!

Been itchy to apply for this card for a while now to increase my keeper card profile. I was going to wait until I got under 2/12 in early September, but just couldn't wait anymore. So I went ahead and applied for it on Tuesday and got an instant deinal, letter 7-10 days, etc. For the first time in my life I called recon and was very nervous to talk to the person.

So he pulls up my application, says that I was denied to too many new accounts, but I pointed out that I only have two personal accounts in the last year and I have been looking at adding this card to my profile to use long term and build a relationship with U.S. Bank. He was very kind and offered to send it to manual UW and I should hear something in 3-5 days. Woke up this morning to an approval for $2,000! Small limit, but I don't need a large one to make use of this card.

Applied under the 120k/$3k offer. Getting 40k points every year for renewing for only $75/yr. Really excited to get approved in a new bank and finally got rid of my itch for a new card. DP's below; everything is pre-submission:

Pulled EQ, live in MO

Score - 779 (CK Score)

Inq - 7 (5 in the last 12, 2 for mortage)

Utilization - 3%

AAoA - 26 months

Income - $90k

At 91/4 I requested a CLI x3 ($12,000) and I received the "COVID $4k"... I am fine with this.
However, I got this in the mail today.  According to this, my score is 843 and the range is 334-818?
Perplexing, to say the least!!!  ( I would like to add I have $30K in a CD with them ATM as well...)

DISCO Graduate

My husband and I started our rebuild journey last September after being declined on a home loan. We missed out on a great house because of our past credit choices and have worked diligently to get ourselves in a better place for the next opportunity.

I took everybody's advice on the forums and applied for a secure Discover card this past February and put $500 down. I used it diligently and always let a small balance report while letting every other card report a 0 balance. Our credit improved greatly and we continued to pay off the other small debts we owed.

My Disco statement cut on Monday. I logged in today to check my balance and saw that I had GRADUATED and been given a 2,000 limit! I am over the moon and completely shocked, since I know Discover can be a tough one to crack.

It is all thanks to the advice on these forums!  I am so grateful for the support and encouragement this forum has provided. I feel encouraged and renewed to keep going in my journey and know that it's totally possible to change your financial situation if you work hard and follow good advice.

NFCU 91/3 - A major AmEx win! And a grueling CLI wait...

I currently have NFCU's Cash Rewards Visa card with a $3,600 limit. My third statement cut on August 16th; my 91st day was on August 8th (give or take a couple of days-- I'm having trouble pinning down the actual date).

I went to NFCU's website last night to apply for an increase of my Visa limit to $5k and received a 24-hour message after submitting my application. Remembering the many stories on this board about people receiving that message and still getting approved, I decided to also submit an app for the NFCU More Rewards Amex. To my shock and amazement, the app for the AMEX was approved with a $12,500 SL! With this approval, I've reached two credit goals: 1.) I was able to close four subprime cards (with monthly and yearly fees!) today without worrying about taking a hit to my overall available credit, and 2.) I've added an AMEX to my credit card mix-- something I've wanted to do for some time now.

I'm still waiting for the result of my Visa's CLI application. I called them today and was told that there was no application status available at this time; the app is still processing and I'll just have to wait.

Even if the CLI is declined, I'll consider last night's app activities a win. Woo-hoo!

Update / Aug. 28th, 4 p.m.: My CLI was approved!

Disco CLI!

I've had my Discover It since June 2019, and in that time i've only gotten a $200 CLI. Which has been frustrating since it's been my lowest limit card, by far. But, i honestly don't put much spend on it.

Lately I've put about $800 spend on it in the last two months, and paid in full, so when my statement hit yesterday i decided to try my luck for a CLI once again today.

BAM! $3500 increase! New limit is $6200!

*EDIT*

I just called in, and spoke with an agent, to request any additional credit left on the table and was approved for an additional $1,000 making the total CLI $4,500. And the new limit is now $7,200!

Yay for Disco double dip!

NFCU More Rewards Approval - $400 SUB - $23,100 SL @ 9.65%

The 40K bonus points for $3000 spend tipped the scales on this one. I've been pondering this offer for over a month, and it expires on the 31st, so I decided to pull the trigger. I'm shocked at the SL - really didn't expect that on my first NFCU card! 9.65% is the lowest APR offered on this card, so I guess my my 8 month history and savings deposits helped me with themIMG_7752.jpgIMG_7751.jpg

AMEX BCE Approval!

Im a little late with this post, and I have been very bad. I was supposed to be gardening and from time to time I will check Amex prequal page to see if I have any matches. (usually I dont) Three nights ago I submitted my info and to my surprise I had a pre-qual for the BCE. I have been gardening for six months post mortgage approval. So I sat there and said what could happen? A rejection? Pulled the trigger and bam instant approval for SL 2K. I know the SL isnt much but to be finally in the AMEX Family !!! It was one of my goals this year, after I have been rebuilding my credit for the past couple of years. I was so stunned that I finally got approved and thought to myself why not try for Platinum as well. Pulled the trigger on that one as well and I got the 14 day message.  May not be an instant approval but hey a guy can hope! I wanted to thank everyone on these forums for all wisdom and tips yall drop everyday. They pulled Experian which I was sitting at a 692.  What do yall think my chanes are to being approved for the Platinum? I called the recon line to see if there was any update and the guy on the line said it was with the executive department and that I would have a decision in 2-3 days.

I did the prequal on the site and same back with up to $3,000. Pulled the trigger and got a $3500 CL.

Data Points:

They pulled EX FICO 9 at 710. No collections, but a good few lates and paid charge offs.

I need computer equipment and card companies are being stingy or just flat out saying no with "you have too many inquiries for our liking"--good thing is, they have 0% financing on almost everything for 6 or 12 months depending on purchase amount.

Affinity FCU Visa Signature

So, I had forgotten about this card and applied/was approved for the Sync Amazon Store Card.  Then after I posted my yay congrats to me post I noticed the approve thread by  for the Affinity FCU Visa Signature, which works as a 5% back for Amazon.com.  I had forgotten about this option and was kicking myself because I really don't want a Sync card and generally speaking I'm trying to avoid store cards.  But, then I wasn't sure how conservative Affinity would be and I have a BK filed 7/2018.

Anyhow, so I applied:

Ex8 pulled - score 712

Ex8 12 month inq - 4

Got the 24-48 hour message.  Received an email about 2 days later with a conditional approval at 5k, but they wanted 2 paystubs.  I undershot my income, so I knew that wouldn't be a problem.

Approved for 5k @ 13.5% (their lowest is 12.5%) - I'm super pleased given my history I did not expect this much.  I keep about $30 in a savings account there, for maybe 3 months now?

I got a $60 gift card with the Sync card, so I'll use it occasionally maybe for promo financing or such over the next few years and then figure out what to do with it.  Even this card will probably sit for a bit because Discover is 5% rotating to amazon for the end of the year and I still have cash back match with them.

Synchrony, Comenity & Capital One CLI Bonanza

Well went through and requested a CLI on all of my Synchrony Comenity & Capital One accounts. Netted increases of $5900 total to my credit line as follows:

Capital One VentureOne - 3500 to 3800

Capital One Walmart - 500 to 600

Synchrony Paypal MC - 2000 to 4500

Synchrony Amazon Prime - 1500 to 3500

Comenity Childrens Place - 500 to 1000

Comenity Eddie Bauer - 350 to 850

I just asked for 500 more for all of them and was denied on a Capital One QS One and my Synchrony Care Credit (just opened in June 20).

This is my first forray into the CLI game and was curious how often you guys do it. When should I plan on doing the next round? Thanks!
